Water Resources
This Division was created in the year of 1980 Earlier it was a Sub Division Under a West Garo Hills Division. Earlier it was named as Irrigation Division.
ROLE
To faciliate farmmers with assured irrgation by construting weir, barrages,intake point and other realted infrastructures. In addtion to this technical experties are provided to Agriculture and Hotriculture Departments relating to civil (construction) works. This Office deals with issuess relating to Ground Water also.
SCHEMES/PROJECTS IMPLEMENTED
Till date 84 Nos of Surface Irrigation Projects have been implemented in the District. Apart from this few Water Harvesting Structures, Jhalkund, Rejevenition of Springs and some anti errosion works has been constructed.
