PWD (roads) Department

PWD (Rds) is entrusted with Planning, survey/ investigation, design and construction of roads and bridges in the State including their upkeep /maintenance.
The Department takes up the challenge of road network building, which is the most essential infrastructure for development and growth of the state and the people in general.

 

The Public Works Department (Buildings) is responsible for the construction and maintenance of Buildings in the State. The Department is headed by the Chief Engineer P.W.D. (Buildings). He is looking after the entire establishment of the Building wing. The Building Wing of the department is engaged in construction of buildings for many departments in the state.For the implementation of various works both under State and Central Programmes in the field, the Department has created Circle, Divisions and Sub- Divisions.One Circle headed by Superintending Engineer, 4 (four) Divisions headed by Executive Engineers namely, Shillong Building Division, Jowai Building Division, Tura Building Division and also one Electrical Division, Shillong besides 8 (eight) Sub-Divisions headed by AEEs.

• Execution of all works
• Assistant to Executive Engineer in all executions of works

PWD(Buildings)

Preparations of DPR’s, Execution/Implementation of Various Central and State Schemes besides maintenance of different buildings belonging to different departments.

 

Furnished by Division Officer (Executive Engineer, Williamnagar Division)

• Scheme and Project are implemented under Executive Engineer Level.
• Construction of Roads and Bridges under State and Centrally Sponsored schemes including PMGSY in rural areas.
• GAD, Judicial, Department of Prisons & Correctional Services, Education, etc.
